How to Use

Search anything
Type a subject, name, or keyword. Results come from Archive.org. It held up well in my tests. If you notice anything wrong with the tool, let me know right away.

Open a collection
Click any result to enter it. A collection can hold folders, subcollections, and files.

Search inside a collection
Use the inner search bar to look inside any collection — even inside book text. This held up well in my tests too. Try it yourself. If you find a problem, send me the exact details and a link.

Open the file
When you find the book, magazine, document, PDF, MP3, or video you want, click it to open its original page on Archive.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

Search inside the text of scanned books has been added. I tested it on a few collections and the results looked correct. If something seems missing or unexpected, tell me.
All three are supported. I tested them on several searches and the results looked correct:
  • AND — e.g. amiga AND commodore returns only items that contain both words.
  • OR — e.g. amiga OR commodore returns items that contain either word.
  • Quoted phrases — e.g. "super mario" finds that exact phrase only.
Note: Words that happen to contain the letters OR or AND but aren't operators (like oregon or format) are searched as normal words.
By default, the tool searches only Archive.org collections. Turning on Deep Search adds individual items — books, videos, audio, software, and more. Use it when a normal search gives zero or very few results. For common keywords, it can return a lot of results and slow things down.
Yes. When Deep Search is on, a year field appears next to the buttons. Enter one year (e.g. 1966) or two (e.g. 1955 – 1970). Inside any collection, there's also a year field next to the inner search bar.

I hope it gives accurate results every time — I really can't test millions of results myself. If you spot something, help me make this tool better.
All data comes from Archive.org's public API. Nothing is stored or hosted here. This is just a compact page that lets you search Archive.org items a bit more cleanly. Nothing fancy.
On Archive.org, collections are nested. One collection can contain several others, and the chain keeps going until you reach the actual files. Just like folders on your computer.
Most items on Archive.org are free and public. Some may have restrictions set by the uploader. Check the item page on Archive.org before reusing anything.
